Wanted: Thanksgiving Turkeys For Local Families
PONTIAC (WWJ) - The turkey has always been the star of the show on the Thanksgiving Day table. This year, Lighthouse of Oakland County is looking for help in providing the bird for thousands of families in need.
Lighthouse CEO, John Zeraldo told WWJ Newsradio 950 that many local families are still struggling.
"Some may have found employment, but are struggling to recover from a job loss. Still others have had their hours cut." This makes it nearly impossible for many to put a a holiday meal on the table, especially one that requires a turkey.
Zeraldo said they are also still in need of condensed milk and stuffing for the hundreds of food baskets they pack for qualified needy families."
