VP Biden To Visit Michigan Wednesday
GRAND RAPIDS (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden plans to visit Grand Rapids on Wednesday to discuss efforts to bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.
The White House announced Monday that Biden will appear at American Seating Co. The 125-year-old company makes seats and many of its components come from the U.S.
President Barack Obama outlined the plans during his State of the Union address last week. Obama visited Ann Arbor on Friday.
The president has proposed ending tax breaks for U.S. companies moving jobs or profits to foreign countries and creating a minimum tax on their overseas profits. He also suggested new tax breaks for businesses that move jobs back to the U.S., for domestic manufacturing and for companies that invest in towns that have suffered major job losses.
