Vote Pavel Datsyuk To Be On The Cover Of NHL 13

Calvin Johnson, Justin Verlander, Barry Sanders and now Pavel Datsyuk? That's right, our very own Datsyuk is up for the cover of NHL 13. Right now he's battling John Tavares of the New York Islanders. It should be easy to beat an Islander right? Just imagine that every sports video game you play this year features a Detroit athlete. How cool would that be?
I know every year I play the NHL franchise by EA Sports; it's such a fantastic game. I'm not even really a hockey fan but I can't get enough of this game. The way you can control the puck with the right and left joy sticks there is no other game like it. The realism is second to none. The Red Wings are already really good in the game but I know if Datsyuk was on the cover he would probably be ranked in the high 90s. There might not be a better sports franchise out there -- I would rank the NHL series 1b near only the Madden games.
Datsyuk has defeated T.J Oshie of the St. Louis Blues in the first round of voting. To vote for Pavel Datsyuk to be the cover boy of NHL 13 click HERE. The voting runs through tomorrow so make sure you vote often. Now don't think this is anything like the Madden jinx. The likes of Mario Lemieux, Eric Lindros, Peter Forsberg and Alexander Ovechkin , just to name a few, have graced the cover since the game was first released in 1991 when it was known as NHL Hockey. The Red Wings have had a player on the cover in NHL 96 version which featured Steve Yzerman and Scott Stevens of the New Jersey Devils.
The NHL franchise by EA Sports has been known as one of the best franchises out. I mean who doesn't remember NHL 93 in the movie "Swingers"? Wayne Gretzky was basically the Bo Jackson of Tecmo Bowl. No one could stop him. If you don't know what I'm talking about then do yourself a favor and search "NHL 93 Swingers" on YouTube. I will warn you the video is NSFW because of language.
Whether you play on Playstation 3, Playstation 2, XBOX 360, and the original XBOX or even on your Playstation Vita it will be awesome to have Datsyuk on the cover. Let's make Detroit proud and have a sweep over the games (now we just need Brandon Knight on the cover of 2k13) and feature a Detroit athlete on all of the sports games.
