Volunteers Hit The Street To Spread The Word About Affordable Care Act
DEARBORN (WWJ) - Volunteers are fanning out across Michigan and other states Saturday to educate people about the Affordable Care Act.
Congressman John Dingell and volunteers from ACCESS have been going door to door in Dearborn to explain to residents that they can enroll for health care insurance under the Affordable Care Act beginning October 1 - reports WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher.
Rashad Alabet with ACCESS and says many within the Arab American community are not insured. "It's just very difficult to get jobs," he said. "You've got to understand the language, the education, so there is … you want to become more educated on the issues and to have the American dream. "
Erin Knott, statewide director of Enroll American spoke about getting coverage under the new health care act.
People can begin to receive benefits under the Affordable Care Act in 2014.
