Vitale Says NCAA Championship Comes Down To Two Match-Ups
ATLANTA (97.1 The Ticket) He stopped short of actually picking a winner, but the incomparable Dick Vitale had high praise for University of Michigan basketball as he strolled into the big championship game Monday.
"It's a great school anyway -- academically, athletically -- but anytime you're a national champ that puts you in a special category -- It should be a great, great game," Vitale said
So, who does the longtime sportscaster and former Pistons coach think will win?
"I think the game's going to come down to two match-ups -- (Peyton) Siva vs. (Trey) Burke and inside (Gorgui) Dieng vs. (Mitch) McGary," Vitale said. "McGary's been absolutely phenomenal."
Vitale added he doesn't think the Fab Five potentially sitting in the stands for the big game can take anything away from the players.
"Everybody realizes these kids ... have done a phenomenal job to get here, that's all a separate entity," Vitale said.
