Verlander Talks About Life As The $200M Man (Video)

As members of the Detroit Tigers gathered at Comerica Park before the annual Tigers caravan, there was chatter about being motivated from being in the World Series, talk of new players and the typical questions about Brennan Boesch, Rick Porcello and taking away Gene Lamont's third base coaching duties.
It was off-season matters as usual, but there were some exceptions ... Among the most interesting tidbits, ace pitcher Justin Verlander was asked if being the first player to sign a $200 million contract was important to him.
"That's a loaded question there," Verlander said. "You guys know me and how competitive I am with every aspect about everything. I'm my own individual, I don't look at anybody else and say, 'Oh, he did this and he did that.' It's what I'm comfortable with when it comes to something like that. There has been no discussions as of yet and don't know if there will be."
