Verlander Gifts Playoff Tickets To One Standout Fan
DETROIT (WWJ) - A young man with Muscular Dystrophy has won a pair of tickets to a playoff game of his choice from Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander.
Verlander announced a contest to give away the set via Twitter, asking his followers to tweet why they deserved an opportunity to attend a playoff game.
"Little advice - maybe let me know what you'll do for others or who you'll be taking. I don't need or want anything," Verlander tweeted on Thursday. The contest wrapped up on Saturday.
A young man from Jackson, who is away at college in Ohio, won the tickets for his 22 year-old friend Bryan who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy. Bryan will reportedly take his father to the game.
