Verizon Expands 4G LTE To Mackinac Island

SOUTHFIELD -- Verizon Wireless has expanded its 4G LTE network to Mackinac Island, just in time for the Detroit Regional Chamber Mackinac Policy Conference 2013.

Verizon Wireless was the first national wireless provider in the United States to build and operate a large-scale 4G LTE network -- the most advanced wireless network technology available, with speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G.

Verizon is in the final stages of building out its 4G LTE network in Michigan. Since the company began rolling it out in late 2010, Verizon has expanded to the following markets, including most surrounding cities and towns:

Benton Harbor/St. Joseph
Cadillac
Detroit
Escanaba
Flint
Grand Rapids
Houghton
Ironwood
