VCU's Shaka Smart Thinks Mitch McGary Is Michigan's Key To Success (VIDEO)

ATLANTA- Michigan took out Shaka Smart's VCU team in the NCAA tournament but that doesn't mean he'll root for Michigan.
"Not necessarily I'm just a fan of basketball," Smart said. "When we get eliminated there are a few days where you depress and you don't want anything to do with it but you get back to watching the tournament. It's an unbelievable spectacle here with thousands and thousands of people and would love to see the best teams win."
Smart believes that Mitch McGary could be the key to the Wolverines success against Syracuse. "Trey Burke is doing a terrific job distributing, finding Robinson finding Stauskas, finding Hardaway Jr., and I think Mitch McGary might be the biggest key, he's playing terrific basketball. Coach Beilein has him playing at a high level."
Smart thinks that McGary has done a great job with building confidence throughout the season.
"Well he's a freshman so freshmen keep getting better and this is what you want to see from your freshmen at the end of the year. He's now been able to compile college experience that he did not have earlier in the year, even in the middle of the year and I think he's using that along with the confidence given to him by his coaching staff. And he's going out and playing great," he said.
In order for Michigan to win they have to beat the zone of the Syracuse Orange and Smart thinks that's possible.
"Well they have great length and I think the missed perception is that their gonna give up an open three-point shot but their zone is designed to contest outside shots with their length they have terrific size across the board what Michigan need to do is get in the lane first either in the pass or the dribble and then find their shooters and they'll get some great looks," Smart said.
