Valenti and Foster's 97.1 the Ticket Fantasy League Week 1 Preview

(0-0) Team Leo (Mike Valenti)
vs
(0-0) Bentley's Hatchet (Jim Bentley/David "Hatchetman" Hull)

When Mike Valenti and Jim Bentley/David "Hatchetman" Hull face off this weekend, a rivalry born during months of pre-show planning (shouting) meetings and bitching for Ticket-Texts finally will come to a head. Bentley's Hatchet wants nothing more to give Valenti a loss in the league he's spent the past two weeks convincing people to join and chastising those who didn't…*cough Karsch & Anderson cough*. The bragging rights for the 2-6pm time slot are at stake, winner takes all. If both MSU and Team Leo lose this weekend, there will be one mad Italian walking into the office on Monday, sounding like this:

Make Plays

(0-0) Team Riger (Jeff Riger)
vs.
(0-0) Turner is Lazy (Bob Turner, the Worst Sales Guy in the Office)

Bob Turner may be the "worst sales guy in the office", but he and Jeff Riger tie for champions of "most boring fantasy football team names". Seriously. Half the fun of fantasy is coming up with a team name, and these two put less thought into it than Derek Dodd did with his draft (Dodd is the guy who drafted five quarterbacks. FIVE.) Speaking of the draft, these guys had… interesting ones. Turner drafted an all-star roster (in 2009) with Andre Johnson (35), Wes Welker (33), Roddy White (32), Jason Witten (32), and Tom Brady (37). Seriously, Chad OchoCinco and Randy Moss weren't available? And Riger… well the third player Riger drafted was Brandon Pettigrew. That pretty much speaks for itself.

(0-0) The Money Team (Evan Jankens/Mike Sullivan) vs.
(0-0) One More For Coach (Jimmy Powers- Program Director)

It's always awkward to compete against your boss. It's even more awkward when you completely demolish your boss in what started as a friendly fantasy football match. It's a good thing 97.1 the Ticket's Program Director is better at running a radio station than he is at drafting a fantasy football team. Team Powers has the tough decision of starting either Ben Roethlisberger/Alex Smith at Quarterback or Martellus Bennett/Levine Toilolo (you probably watched all four episodes of Hard Knocks and still didn't know he was the Falcons tight end), while The Money Team will likely start LeSean McCoy, Jamaal Charles, Gronk and Andrew Luck. Evan and Mike should probably avoid the corner office on Monday.
