Valenti and Foster: The Lions Will Finally Win In Washington
The last time the Lions beat the Redskins on the road, the victory came in Fenway Park -- because the Redskins still played in Boston in 1935.
The Lions hit the road this Sunday to a city which has been none too kind to them historically. Detroit has never won in Washington, losing 20 straight games dating back to 1939.
97.1 The Ticket's Valenti and Foster believe that streak will come to an end this weekend in D.C.
"Part of it is law of averages, and part a gut feel," Terry Foster said Friday. "Washington is really reeling right now. Robert Griffin III probably wont be able to run like he used to and we might eventually see former Spartan Kirk Cousins replace him in this game."
With the Redskins in turmoil, dealing with the ailing knee of Griffin III and defensive identity issues, the Lions are poised to win their third straight overall against Washington. With the Lions potentially missing running back Reggie Bush to a knee injury sustained in last week's loss to Arizona, some people believe the Redskins will slow the Detroit offense, but not Mike Valenti.
"The Lions will not only win, but win big," Valenti said. "Washington's secondary stinks and the Lions will put up serious points en route to blowing out the Redskins, 34-17. As much as I would love to play the desperation card for Washington, I can't because they are just bad."
Will the Lions finally be able to beat Washington on the road or will the Redskins pull it together and keep the streak alive?
