US Signal Expands Network Access in Midwest Central Offices
GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ) -- The data network provider US Signal says it is firing up new fiber optic connectivity in 52 telephone company central offices in Michigan, Illinois and Indiana.
The expansion, to be completed by the end of the first quarter in Michigan, is expected to result in enhanced bandwidth options and competitive pricing for customers, potentially allowing more bandwidth for a lower rate.
US Signal said that with the expansion, businesses in Plymouth, Royal Oak, Howell, Farmington Hills and Monroe are likely to benefit. The planned expansion in Indiana and Illinois cities will be completed by the second quarter of 2014.
With more access points to the US Signal network, customers in these areas will have an alternative to their Local Exchange Carrier or Cable Company, along with unmatched end-to-end reliability and security through US Signal Service Level Agreements.
US Signal has more than 14,000 miles of lit fiber and metro rings in 23 markets in the midwest, from major cities to smaller towns. The company says the network's optical backbone features Cisco Systems' latest carrier class architecture. US Signal offers colocation, security and network enhanced cloud services.
