Team USA Beats Canada In Gold Cup Soccer
DETROIT (WWJ) - Fans came from far and wide to see Team USA beat Canada 2-0 in Gold Cup Soccer play at Ford Field Tuesday night.
It was a night to remember for many at Ford Field --as the Gold Cup -- this continent's version of the World Cup played out for all to see.
WWJ's Kathryn Larson was at the big 'football' game and found fans from all over the world, including this man from Jamaica cheering, "Go USA!"
"The game is very, very important - on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say 10, I want to say 11 but I'll say 10," said Phantom, a hip hop entertainer in Jamaica, who flew all the way here for the big game.
He along with his son and brother were waving their TEAM USA flags --while doing a little just a little bit of fanning.
But even though it was hot, Phantom says he had some of the best seats in the house, "I paid some good money for these seats," adding he won't have missed this game for anything.
