US Attorney General Visits WSU For Health Care Fraud Summit
DETROIT (WWJ) - On the heels of what the government called the largest Medicare fraud bust in history, the nation's Attorney General will visit Detroit on Tuesday, as part of a series of summits on preventing health care fraud.
Nationally, Strike Forces have recovered more than $2 billion in fraudulent billing. Just last month, federal agents arrested more than 100 suspects who were involved in dozens of alleged schemes in Detroit and eight other cities.
It is the fifth in a series of day-long regional summits hosted by Attorney General Eric Holder and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. The nationwide program was announced last summer by President Obama, to root out waste and fraud in health care.
The summit will take place from 9 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesday, March 15 at Wayne State University's Community Arts Center.
