U of M Is All Business Entering Sugar Bowl
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Michigan Wolverines are hoping for a sweet finish to their trip to New Orleans. U of M is facing Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl Tuesday night. It's Michigan's first BCS bowl game since the 2006 season.
Midday co-host Doug Karsch on 97.1 The Ticket says the team is taking this game seriously:
"It's been a very business-like trip, there hasn't been any issues with curfew or players being out - they've had really good practices, and I just think the Denard Robinson factor with the emergence of Fitzgerald Toussaint late in the season has really helped," said Karsch.
It's the first-ever meeting between the two teams and Michigan tickets sold quickly.
"There are Michigan fans everywhere and I'm staying at the team hotel and they are just swamped with maize and blue fans - in fact- Michigan sold out their tickets pretty quickly," said Karsch.
Virginia Tech, however, had trouble selling its block of tickets and was making arrangements to have them bought--and then donated to Hokies fans along the Gulf Coast who want to go.
