Monday night, Tigers OF Tyler Collins had a moment that he may forever regret: After losing a fly ball in the lights, Collins heard the boos from the crowd and decided to flip the bird to each and every fan.
Following the incident, Collins said, "To be at home and to hear boos after that play hit a trigger inside of me and I lashed out completely inappropriately."
Coincidentally or not, Wednesday afternoon Collins was sent down to Triple-A Toledo to make room for closing pitcher Francisco Rodriguez. Rodriguez was activated from the family medical emergency list, according to the team.
The move might not have been a direct move from Collins obscene gesture but also for his play. In 2016, Collins was hitting .100. He was 2-20 on the season with 1 RBI and 6 strike outs.
