Two In Custody, Suspected In Pizza Robbery Racket
There may be a break in the case of robberies of several pizza delivery men in Metro Detroit. There have been about 10 gunpoint robberies of pizza delivery men, in Eastpointe, Roseville, Warren and St. Clair Shores, all within the past few weeks.
Roseville Deputy Police Chief James Berlin tells WWJ they had another such robbery Thursday night and they may finally have the culprits in custody.
"After last night's robbery, the responding officers stopped two men who matched the description of the suspects involved in the robbery. At that time, we had no evidence linking them to the robbery that took place earlier, but they were arrested on other charges -- outstanding warrants," Berlin said.
"Since that time we have developed information that we believe ties them to last night's robbery," he said.
Berlin said they are looking for a third suspect. He said they're still investigating, but have advised local pizza shops to be careful and try to verify addresses and phone numbers before heading out.
