Two Charged In Fatal Crash Involving State Trooper
FLINT (AP) — Two Flint residents face charges following a car chase with police that killed a 64-year-old woman.
The Genesee County prosecutor's office says 28-year-old Curtis Lee II is charged with fleeing police causing death, two counts of fleeing police resulting in serious injury and carrying a concealed weapon.
Twenty-two-year-old Jasmin Dent is charged with tampering with evidence, being an accessory after the fact and filing a false report. They were to be arraigned Friday.
A state trooper was chasing a car July 3 before crashing into a third vehicle. Jacqueline Nichols was killed. Two other people in the car with Nichols were hurt.
The driver being chased ran off after striking a utility pole. His female passenger drove that car away.
Prosecutors say Dent later reported the car stolen.
