Two Arrested In Death Of Missing Westland Teen
Police have two people in custody in connection with the death of a missing Westland teenager. The 16-year-old Carly Jade Morse was reported missing on August 19.
Police Chief Alan Ramsden tells WWJ the case broke wide open in the last few days.
"We got a tip from someone who had some knowledge of the circumstances of what may have occurred, and followed that tip like we followed every other one on this case, and it led us to two young gentlemen," Ramsden said.
Police arrested a 19-year-old from Westland and a 22-year-old from Taylor, who officials say confessed to killing Morse in Westland on the date she went missing.
"We are now treating this as, instead of a missing person, as a homicide investigation," Ramsden said.
Ramsden said the teen's body has not been recovered and they are still actively developing evidence in the case. Officials have presented information to the Wayne County Prosecutors Office for review.
