Election Day In Several Communities
DETROIT (WWJ) - Tuesday is Election Day in some communities across Metro Detroit, with voters being asked to approve higher taxes and public safety and support services.
There are a few primary elections and some ballot questions for voters to address Tuesday.
In Livonia: Two ballot proposals for five years: one for 1.7 mills for public safety and support services, the second for .25 mills for senior services and Greenmead Historical Village.
In Macomb County: School Improvement Bond Proposition, Public Safety Millage Proposal, among others.
In Royal Oak Township: Voters will consider a mileage increase. It's the third time in two years officials have sought a tax hike, citing declining revenues and rising operational costs.
In Troy: Voters have a third chance since February of last year to support or reject the city's public library with a mileage vote.
