TubeMogul Opens Doors in Downtown Detroit's M@dison Building
DETROIT -- The California-based online video promotion firm TubeMogul has opened an office in the M@dison Building in downtown Detroit's growing technology hub.
TubeMogul has run video advertising campaigns for all of Michigan's top automotive brands in the past year.
TubeMogul CEO and co-founder Brett Wilson said his company opened an office in Detroit because it "is quickly becoming the place to be for tech start-ups. Programmatic buying and delivery of video ads is changing the game for brand marketers, and automotive brands were among the first to realize that."
TubeMogul is one of a few advertising technology companies located in the building, a vote of confidence given the intense process that evaluates a firm's ability to contribute to technological and digital innovation in Detroit. The office opened with three staffers and is currently hiring two more. Plans are to grow the office to about 10 employees within a year.
Detroit Venture Partners, a venture capital firm that invests in seed and early-stage technology companies, helped recruit TubeMogul to downtown Detroit and brokered the company's lease in Rock Ventures' M@dison Building.
TubeMogul's move to Detroit comes within weeks after San Francisco-based Uber Technologies, a mobile platform connecting passengers with drivers of luxury vehicles for hire, opened its office in the M@dison Building.

Created specifically for brand marketers, TubeMogul's platform enables the execution of scalable digital video campaigns, while providing the measurability and accountability marketers demand. Founded in 2006, TubeMogul is based in Emeryville, Calif., with offices in New York, London, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney, Toronto, Chicago, Detroit, Austin and Los Angeles.
M@dison is an entrepreneurial tech hub located at 1555 Broadway St. in downtown Detroit. Originally designed by architect C. Howard Crane and built in 1917 as part of the Madison Theatre complex, the historical Madison Theatre Building is now a creative center designed to encourage partnership among local entrepreneurs and their budding projects and companies. The building was purchased by Rock Ventures in January 2011 and has since been renovated and transformed into an open, colorful and collaborative space. It is home to Detroit Venture Partners, Skidmore Studio, Twitter, Detroit Labs, Uber and Doodle Home, among 30 others, committed to creating a technology hub in the heart of Detroit's urban core.
