Trump: Hillary's Immigration Plan Will Lead To Terrorism Spreading Into Michigan Schools
WARREN (WWJ) -- Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made the second of his two stops in Michigan on the campus of Macomb Community College late Monday afternoon.
Among many topics covered during his speech, Trump continuously slammed opponent Hillary Clinton for the FBI investigation involving her email accounts while she served as Secretary of State.
But Trump didn't stop there -- he said her foreign policy plans might mean terrorists make their way into schools in Michigan.
"Hillary Clinton wants a 550 percent increase in Syrian refugees coming to our shores," Trump said. "Hillary Clinton's immigration plans mean generations of terrorism, extremism and radicalism spreading into your schools and communities all over Michigan."
Trump also visited Grand Rapids earlier on Monday, maintaining the belief that he will win the state of Michigan in next week's election.
"When we win, we will suspend the Syrian refugee program and we will keep radical Islamic terrorists the hell out of our country -- believe me," Trump said.
Trump did say that the situation in Syria is "tragic" before offering a different solution.
"We'll help them with safe zones in Syria, we'll get the Gulf states to pay for it -- we don't have the money, we owe $20 trillion," Trump said, "but they have plenty of money and they haven't been stepping up, they'll step up.
"We don't want to have a modern-day version on the Trojan horse and that's what's going on," he added.
Monday was one of Trump's first opportunities to speak to the public since the FBI told Congress they were opening the case into Clinton's emails based on email found on a mobile device belonging to Anthony Weiner.
"We're going to win Michigan, we're doing great in every poll, we're doing amazing … We're winning in Ohio, we're winning in Iowa … we're winning in Florida, we're winning big in Texas .. This is going to be something special," Trump said earlier in Grand Rapids.
Some of the latest polls have Clinton leading Trump in Michigan by up to nine points. The last Republican nominee to win the Michigan was George H.W. Bush in 1988.
