Craig Bryson, with the Oakland County Road Commission, says this storm was stronger than expected and that they will be ready for any additional accumulation on Sunday.
"It came down much harder than we expected, we had an alert that we knew that snow was coming, we had no idea that it would be near white-out, blizzard-like conditions, so it was much harder than expected," Bryson explained.
"We had planned to be out, in fact we cleaned up a few of the remaining subdivisions, this morning , that were left over from the last snow, we expected to send people home to get some rest today, then we saw this coming - we had to turn right back around and get right back out there," Bryson noted.
Macomb County Road Commissioner Bob Mykytiak says he was prepared for it to snow but had no idea that it would snow this hard. "We've got 50 trucks out on the road right now, I'm sure that now, it looks like over here it has stopped, I would think that it will take the guys all night to clear the roads right now, and hopefully we'll have it cleaned up by (Sunday) morning," Mykytiak said.
