Troy Woman In Head-on Crash; Busted For DUI
-TROY (WWJ/AP) - Troy Police say a woman with nearly four times the legal limit of alcohol in her system was on the way to pick up her child at school last Friday afternoon, when she struck a vehicle head on.
Police say the 44-year-old woman struck an oncoming vehicle near Pasadena and Avalon, and was unsteady on her feet when police arrived. Police say her speech was slurred.
Officers say she admitted having two glasses of wine earlier in the day, but she failed a sobriety test.
Police say her preliminary breath test showed she had a blood alcohol level of 0.3 percent. A level of 0.08 percent or more is considered drunk under Michigan law. She was arrested for drunk driving. Blood tests are pending.
Troy Police say they made 11 drunk driving arrests last weekend.
