Trip To Meijer Store Ends At Oakland County Jail
ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - Thirty-year old Jerrie Perkins from Pontiac almost made the great slow moving escape.
She allegedly packed $600 dollars worth of items in her electronic wheelchair shopping cart at the Rochester Road Meijer's. But what she wasn't expecting was the narrow escape door. That's when she and the cart became stuck and Perkins, 5'2", 400 lbs. couldn't drive the cart out the door.
The door alarm was then activated, indicating a theft. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says when she was stopped by store employees, she assaulted them. When a Sheriff's deputy arrived -- she got in a fighting stance -- and had to be tasered.
Currently Perkins is behind bars at the Oakland County Jail.
Thursday Perkins was arraigned on charges of: Unarmed Robbery, Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer, and Retail Fraud 2nd Degree . Perkins is being held at the jail on $15,000 bond.
