Trio Arrested In Troy Home Invasion
TROY (WWJ) - Police suspect that two men and a woman caught breaking into a home in Troy may have been involved in at least one other home invasion in the area.
The three were arrested last Tuesday night, in Troy.
Police say a witness observed the the trio as they kicked in the door of a home on the 2000 block of Charnwood, near Adams, and walked out with boxes of the homeowners' property.
By the time the jumped back into their car and tried to flee, responding officers had arrived and blocked the road. Two of the suspects, 20-year-old Gerald Harris and 21-year old Marlon Conley, bailed from the car and fled on foot, but were apprehended.
Police say a citizen, seeing what was going on, pulled up to block the driver's side door, blocking a third suspect's ability to escape.
While in police custody, that suspect, 21-year-old Tyesha Stevenson of Troy, gave officers consent to search her apartment where they found several items previously stolen from a home in the same neighborhood.
Recovered by police included two flat screen TV's, two laptop computers, a desktop computer, a stamp collection, a camera and a Nintendo 64 video game system. The apartment did not contain any couches, tables or chairs.
All three suspects were arraigned, Thursday, at the 52-4 District Court in Troy, on charges of Breaking and Entering, a 10 year felony. They are being held on bond.
