#Trending In Entertainment: Beyonce Crushes Dreams & A 'Star Wars' Reveal
This week, a pop icon crushed everyone's dreams and "Episode VII" just got a lot more real.
It was around this time last year that a little (read: big) global icon named Beyonce surprised the world with an unannounced album. The rest went down in history, literally.
This time around, rumors have swirled that the songstress would be dropping a second part to that album with brand new songs featuring Justin Timberlake, Pharrell, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna on Nov. 14. The rumor started when a picture hit the internet with a supposed leaked track listing of the album.
Alas, all of that was a hoax, according to Beyonce's representatives, and instead the world will be getting a re-release of her original visual album along in a deluxe platinum edition form. The re-release will include two brand new songs but will only feature Pharrell and Nicki Minaj on remixes to original songs.
Hey, here's to keeping hope alive.
Jedis rejoice! Walt Disney Pictures has finally announced the title of the previously dubbed "Episode VII." The next installment in the Star Wars roster will be called "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
The announcement comes just as principal photography for the film wrapped after six months.
Get ready for more "Star Wars" news as the movie's release date in December 2015 approaches.
3. Lena Dunham Is Not That Kind Of Girl
Actress Lena Dunham is firing back at critics who say she molested her younger sister. On Monday, Dunham vented her anger on social media, tweeting:
"The right-wing news story that I molested my little sister isn't just LOL- it's really (expletive) upsetting and disgusting."
The controversy comes from Dunham's recent book "Not That Kind Of Girl," where she iterates the story of bribing her younger sister to kiss her for five seconds when the actress was seven years-old.
Many, including conservatives, were upset when reading this tidbit of the book, characterizing it as "sexually abusing her little sister."
Whether you hate her or not, you have to respect Taylor Swift, especially after making history by being the first artist in 2014 to sell over a million albums. Her "1989" album was a commercial hit, as indicated by its 1.2 million copies sold in the first week of its release.
As if that's not enough, Swift also sold the largest number of albums in one week since June 2, 2002 when Eminem's "The Eminem Show" sold 1.3 million in its second week at number one.
All of the other artists that released music in 2014 will just have to "Shake It Off" and try a little harder.
The People's Choice Awards nominations are out, and you can put money down that both Sam Smith and Shailene Woodley will probably be walking home with an award. Both the actor and singer are the leading nominees for the 2015 People's Choice Awards.
Announced on Tuesday, the nominations list also includes top nominations for Pharrell and Taylor Swift.
The awards show will be hosted by actresses Anna Faris and Allison Janney of CBS' comedy "Mom."
