Transformers 3 Filming In Downtown Detroit
Part of downtown Detroit is being transformed into a movie set.
It's at the corner of Sixth and Howard, across the street from the bus station at the set where part of Transformers 3 is being shot. They're using the old State of Michigan building as some sort of backdrop. The set is fenced off, but the scaffolding, cranes, floodlights and what appears to be a section of a building facade as if it fell off the front of a structure, can be seen from the street.
Transformers fans' message boards are rumoring that this set is part of some sort of 1960s flashback scene for the upcoming sequel. Actual filming of the movie is expected to wrap up sometime next month.
