Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the weekend again, which means it's time for some road work and intermittent lane closures -- and luckily, there aren't many.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-696:

In Macomb County, maintenance work will require a moving double lane closure on westbound I-696 from I-94 to Dequindre beginning at 9 a.m. and ending by 3 p.m. on Friday.

I-94:

In Detroit, the westbound I-94 exit to Cadieux will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, and again from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, for ongoing lighting upgrades.

In Detroit, the westbound I-94 exit to Conner will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday for ongoing lighting work.

In Macomb County, the left lane of eastbound I-94 will be closed from Little Mack to Metro Parkway nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Thursday and Friday.

Beginning the week of Monday, February 18:

M-59 (Highland Road):

In Oakland County, eastbound M-59 will have the right lane closed at Teggerdine Road daily from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. starting Monday and ending Friday for barrier wall repair.

US-12 (Michigan Avenue):

In Wayne County, the right lane of westbound Michigan Avenue will be closed at Brady Street in Dearborn daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. starting Monday and ending Friday for maintenance work.
