Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
DETROIT (WWJ) – Know before you go! To avoid delays and traffic jams, don't forget to check on the following construction projects before heading out this weekend.
The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
I-75:
In Oakland County, the left two lanes of southbound I-75 will be closed from Square Lake Road to Coolidge Highway for pavement repair starting at 9 p.m. on Friday and ending by 9 a.m. on Saturday.
In Oakland County, the two right lanes of northbound I-75 will be closed from Maple to Rochester roads for pavement repair starting at 9 p.m. on Friday and ending by 9 a.m. on Saturday.
In Wayne County, the right lane of northbound I-75 will be closed at Allen Road for ongoing construction from 7 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Monday.
In Wayne County, scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and end by 5 p.m. on Saturday, a moving double left lane closure on northbound I-75 from Will Carleton to Telegraph roads for detailed bridge inspections.
In Wayne County, detailed bridge inspections will close the two left lanes of southbound I-75 from Northline to Eureka roads starting at 6 a.m. and ending at 10 a.m. on Saturday. From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, the right lane will be closed from Northline to Eureka.
I-94:
In Detroit, starting at Noon and ending by 7 p.m. on Saturday, the right lane of westbound I-94 at Trumbull, and the right lane of eastbound I-94 at I-96 will be closed for sign work. In addition, the ramp southbound M-10 to westbound I-94, and from Linwood to eastbound I-94 will be closed during the same time frame.
In Detroit, beginning at 7 a.m. and ending by 2 p.m. on Saturday, the right lane of westbound I-94 at Conner and the right lane of eastbound I-94 at Van Dyke will be closed for sign foundation work.
In Macomb County, the left lane of eastbound and westbound I-94 will be closed between 12 Mile and 9 Mile roads for ongoing construction starting at 9 p.m. on Friday and ending by 5 a.m. on Monday.
I-96:
In Oakland County, starting at 5 a.m. on Saturday and ending by Noon on Sunday, a single lane will be closed on eastbound I-96 from Kensington to Kent Lake roads.
In Oakland County, starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday and ending by 11 a.m. on Monday, a single lane will be closed on westbound I-96 from Milford to Kent Lake roads.
M-19:
In Macomb County, beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday, M-19 (North Ave) in the city of Richmond will be closed between 31 Mile and Muttonville roads for repaving. A detour will be posted.
M-59:
In Oakland County, starting at 5 a.m. on Saturday and ending by 11 p.m. on Sunday, eastbound and westbound M-59 will be reduced to a single lane between Crooks and Ryan roads for construction.
In Oakland County, the right lane of westbound M-59 will be closed from Telegraph to Elizabeth Lake roads for construction starting at 7 p.m. on Friday and ending by 2 p.m. on Sunday.
M-39:
In Wayne and Oakland Counties, M-39 Southfield Freeway will remain closed between the Lodge Freeway and Grand River Avenue until late October.
