Traffic Alert: M-59 Ramp Closures In Oakland County
OAKLAND COUNTY (WWJ) - The Michigan Department of Transportation is advising motorists to prepare for upcoming ramp closures that will be part of two ongoing M-59 freeway projects.
On Thursday, April 21, the westbound M-59 exit ramp to Crooks Road will be closed after morning rush hour and is expected to remain closed until May 22.
Traffic will be detoured to the Adams Road exit, then eastbound Hamlin Road, back to Crooks Road. The ramp reconstruction is part of the ongoing Crooks Road/M-59 interchange rehabilitation.
Then, on Monday, April 25 after morning rush hour, crews will close the eastbound M-59 ramp to southbound I-75 in order to repair the concrete and then resurface the ramp.
During the ramp closure, traffic will be detoured east on M-59 to northbound Squirrel Road, then westbound M-59 to southbound I-75. The ramp is scheduled to open on May 9. This work is part of the resurfacing work on the M-59 freeway between Opdyke and Crooks roads.
