Traffic Alert: Halstead Road Flooding
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Runoff from melting ice and snow has been causing a bit of a road hazard in least one Oakland County community.
In Farmington Hills, WWJ Newsradio 950's Pat Sweeting reports that motorists, anxious to get where they're going, weren't letting barricades bearing "Road Closed" signs get in the way.
Near the 14 Mile Road section of Halstead Road, about a foot of water covered the road surface, but motorists were splashing on through, Friday afternoon.
Along a low-lying portion of Halstead along side Minnow Pond, some slowed to a cautious crawl and others sent up walls of water as they cruised on by the roadblocks at full speed.
The good news -- Pat reports that, at least while she was at the scene, no one seemed to be stalling out.
