Traffic Alert: Groesbeck Highway Resurfacing In Macomb County Begins Monday
FRASER (WWJ) - The Michigan Department of Transportation says a project to resurface 3.4 miles of Groesbeck Highway (M-97) in Macomb County is scheduled to begin Monday, March 18.
The $13.5 million construction project will take place in two stages between 14 Mile and Hayes roads. Southbound M-97 will be finished in the first stage, while northbound M-97 will be completed in the second. Work will include drainage and utility upgrades.
In an effort to ease this project's impact on traffic, two lanes will be open in each direction during peak travel times. Multiple lane closures will be in effect during nights and weekends in order to complete the project within one construction season.
MDOT officials expect the project to be completed by the end of October.
