Traffic Alert: Freeway Closures This Weekend
WARREN (WWJ) - The weekend drive will be hampered with two major freeway closures in Metro Detroit. WWJ's John Bailey reports that, as we inch closer to Spring, road crews are springing into action.
Crews will take the bridge rehab project in Warren and Center Line up another notch. Both directions of I-696 will be closed from Van Dyke to Hoover. Plan to use the service drives or the nearby mile roads.
Also, between Dearborn and Southfield, both directions of M-39/the Southfield Freeway will be shut down, once again, from Ford Road to M-10, the Lodge. Telegraph, Evergreen and Greenfield are the alternates.
Both freeways are scheduled to close starting at about 9 p.m. Friday, and will reopen late Sunday night or early Monday morning, ahead of rush hour.
