Camry, Venza and Tacoma Vehicles Part Of Massive Toyota Recall
TORRANCE, CA -– (WWJ) Toyota is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles for two different issues.
The first recall involves Camrys and Venzas from the 2009 to 2010 model years. There are issues with a switch that can cause a variety of problems, ranging from a permanently illuminated warning light to a shift lever that won't move out of park.
Toyota says approximately 70,500 Camry and 116,000 Venza vehicles are covered by this recall.
The other Toyota recall involves 495,000 Tacoma pickup trucks from the 2005 to 2009 model years. There are issues with the steering wheel that can cause the airbag warning light to illuminate, and--in some cases--prevent the airbag from deploying.
Toyota says it's currently obtaining the necessary replacement parts for both recalls, and will inform owners when those parts become available.
In both recalls, the fix should take about a half hour.
