Toy Gun At Center Of Hostage Situation At Coney Island Restaurant In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - A hostage situation in Detroit ends without incident Tuesday night.
Detroit police tell WWJ Newsradio 950, it started at a Coney Island restaurant on Gratiot at McDougall on the city's east side.
Michigan State Police Sgt. Mike Woody said they got a call of a man holding three people hostage around seven o'clock.
A negotiator tried to get the suspect to surrender and a short time later, the three hostages were released.
Police said the suspect had a toy gun in his possession. He surrendered and is now in custody.
Authorities said no one was injured.
