Top Pugh Aide Arrested
DETROIT (WWJ) - A top aide to Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh was taken into custody after a brief police chase Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred as Pugh hosted the first-ever Detroit City Council town hall meeting on the Internet.
According to police, 29 year-old Vaughn Antoine Arrington is charged with reckless driving and fleeing and eluding police.
Detroit Police say they attempted to stop Arringon for speeding near the intersection of Alcoy and Greiner. He was apprehended a short time later.
Pugh issued a statement, saying, "I hold myself and my staff to a higher standard and this kind of nonsense will not be tolerated."
A spokesperson for Pugh says the council president will review the accusations against Arrington before taking any disciplinary action.
