TM Group On The Move, On The Grow
FARMINGTON HILLS -- The TM Group has moved into new headquarters space in Farmington Hills and continues to grow and hire.
The 25-year-old Microsoft Dynamics accounting and business management software provider has seen 30 percent sales growth so far this year. It also now has offices and remote workers in Grand Rapids and Battle Creek in Michigan and in Arizona and New Hampshire out of state.
"We've added five people just since the beginning of the year," TM Group president and co-founder Judy Thomas said Friday.
The company is now at 37 employees. Thomas said Microsoft ERP and accounting software installations, including Microsoft Dynamics GP, NAV and SL, are the fastest growing parts of the business.
"Development is also growing fast," Thomas said. "Everywhere we go around Detroit, we hear great things about business being up."
Ken Jacobsen Jr., director of sales and marketing, said a lot of TM Group customers are finally seeing fit to replace old technology.
"We're replacing a lot of old, outdated systems that people have been limping along with," he said. Also, the company's new hires have brought in new business.
"The people we're hiring bring along kind of an aura," Jacobsen said. "They know people who know people who know people, so we accumulate more prospects, more leads."
The company's new 7,000-square-foot headquarters is a former real estate office that offers the company "grow room" to add perhaps a dozen more staff. Thomas said the company's next hiring moves will probably involve recent college graduates.
Thomas praised TM Group's Michigan-based vendors and partners -- Kojaian Management for real estate, Ultracom for telecom services, Kentwood Office Furniture, Art Van and Steelcase for furniture and interior work, Lease Corp. of America in Troy for financing -- for helping the company grow.
