Tips Sought To Identify Petite, Pink Hoodie-Clad Thief [VIDEO]

WATERFORD (WWJ) -  Police in Waterford Township are on the hunt for a petite criminal in pink.

Investigators are hoping someone in the public can help them to identify the female suspect, who is wanted in a robbery at around 6:30 p.m. last Tuesday at a salon in the 3000 block of Elizabeth Lake Road.

Police said the suspect, who implied she had a gun, entered the business and attempted to lock the employee in a room.

The employees were able to run away, police said, but saw the suspect removing an undisclosed about of money from the cash register.

The robber is described as a white female, around 5 feet, 1 inch tall and 125 lbs., wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt, black bandanna, sunglasses, black and white striped gloves and a full length-black skirt.

She was seen leaving the area in a Chrysler PT Cruiser, possibly orange or a similar color.

Anyone who knows the suspect seen in the secuiry video or who has any information about this crime is asked to call the Waterford Police Tip Line 248-674-COPS (2677) or e-mail: policetips@waterfordmi.gov.

Alternatively, tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-Up. A cash reward may be available through Crime Stoppers if the information provided leads to an arrest.
