Tips Sought To Catch Man Wanted For Girlfriend's Murder In 2007
REDFORD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - The family of a woman found dead in the trunk of a classic car several years ago is pleading for help to find the man believed to have killed her.
Ali Hourani is wanted for the murder of Danielle Munoz on March 12, 2007.
Munoz, 26, was found shot in the neck in the trunk of a Chevy Caprice parked outside Redford Township A&H Express Lube on Plymouth Road near Southwestern Highway.
Munoz's family members, at the time, described Hourani as abusive, and reported that Munoz told them if she ever went missing they should suspect him.
Munoz's cousin Juanita Serrata told WWJ Newsradio 950 that Hourani fled to Beirut in his native Lebanon shortly after Munoz's death, but the family has reason to believe he is back in the Detroit area.
Serrata fought tears as she asked for anyone with information to please come forward.
"You have to think about it ... if it was your family. He could go and he could do this to another person," Serrata said. "And I don't want no one to be scared. We will keep you anonymous.
"We just really want him to be caught. We want him off the streets," she said. "He deserves to be in jail; he deserves to pay for this. He's had seven years already that he's been living his life."
Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward for the tip that leads to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Houranis is asked contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-SPEAK UP. Tips can also be submitted online at 1800speakup.org, or you can text your tip to CRIMES (274637).
Crime Stoppers is a completely anonymous program. Callers are never asked for their names or phone numbers and are not asked to testify in court.
