Time For Red Wings' Stars To Shine
The notion that star players may need time to get going in the playoffs works fine when that time is allotted. Given the position the Red Wings are in now, however, faced with a Game 7 tonight, it's on the team's top guys to make sure there is a second round.
Six games into this series against Phoenix, Dan Cleary has no points, Johan Franzen has one goal, and Pavel Datsyuk's power-play unit may be racking up the chances but chances alone don't advance teams in the playoffs. It almost boggles the mind that Tomas Holmstrom is averaging more than four minutes per game on the power play and does not have a single point to show for it.
