Tigers Win Ajax for Grandy Trade (Finally)
By: Dennis Fithian
Maybe you already thought the Tigers won in the Curtis Granderson for Austin Jackson (and others) trade. I wasn't 100% sure until game three of the ALCS. As the eventual game winning RBI double from Miguel Cabrera went by New York centerfielder Curtis Granderson's glove. I thought, Austin Jackson would have had that ball. Jackson hit .300 this year and continues to get better in all facets of hitting. Tigers also ending up getting pitchers Max Scherzer and Phil Coke in the Jackson/Granderson deal. Scherzer won 16 games for the Tigers in the regular season and was impressive in his start against Oakland in the opening round. After a rough regular season, Coke has come on to save the last two games for Detroit over New York after Jose Valverde's consecutive post season meltdowns.
Jackson straight up for Granderson looks better every day for Detroit. Throw in Scherzer and Coke and after this series you can say for sure the Tigers won the much talked about trade.
