Tigers-White Sox Preview 5-15-12
(AP) -- Prince Fielder managed to break out of a career-worst slump, but he couldn't help his Detroit Tigers get any closer to ending theirs.
The inconsistent Tigers might not have any more luck getting back on track Tuesday when they face Chicago White Sox veteran right-hander Jake Peavy, who will seek his second win in three matchups this season.
Fielder was hitless in 22 at-bats heading into Monday's game at U.S. Cellular Field but went 3 for 5 and drove in a pair of runs. The Tigers (17-18), though, couldn't hold on to an early three-run lead in their 7-5 defeat and were denied their first win streak since a four-game run April 15-18.
