Tigers Under Pressure But Fans Remain Optimistic
DETROIT (WWJ) - Down 3-0 in the best of seven series, the Tigers are facing elimination in the World Series against the San Francisco Giants Sunday night, but fans like Jason Granchi of Auburn Hills remain optimistic.
"They've got to come up with some bats, they need to start hitting the ball," said Granchi. "So, I'm hopeful, but four games is a long way to go."
But can the Tigers pull out a win at home under pressure?
Brian Neusius of Commerce Township went to the Detroit Lions game in the afternoon and will go to the Tigers game in the evening, he tells WWJ's Beth Fisher that he's staying positive:
"A little worried but the 2004 Red Sox did the ALCS so, why can't the Tigers do it this year? (They can) win four straight," said Neusius who admits he's an optimist.
Jeremy Schilling of Auburn Hills went to the Lions game but will watch the Tigers at home. "The Tigers is a big hole, 3-0. The bats have to warm-up, it's cold but the bats got to warm up."
Although Shilling will watch the Tigers from the best seat in his house, he said it's fun to have so much going on in the city.
