Tigers To Host Law Enforcement Appreciation Night
DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Tigers plan to host Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at Comerica Park this week.
The team says Thursday night's events are dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers and their families. One aim is to help to raise awareness and money for the National Law Enforcement Museum, which currently is under construction in Washington.
Detroit hosts the Texas Rangers that night.
The Detroit Police Department says a memorial service is planned in honor of Officer Charles Armour, who died last year after being struck by a car while on foot patrol in Detroit.
