Tigers Send Reliever Ruffin To Mariners
DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Tigers sent minor-league reliever Chance Ruffin to the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday to complete a July 30 trade.
Detroit obtained starter Doug Fister and reliever David Pauley from the Mariners in exchange for Ruffin, reliever Charlie Furbush, minor-league third baseman Francisco Martinez.
Ruffin, the 48th pick in the 2010 draft, has pitched as a minor-league closer. He made a brief appearance with the Tigers in July, allowing two runs in 3 2-3 innings over two games.
