Tigers Rebound Beating White Sox 10-8

CHICAGO (WWJ/AP) - An eight-run sixth inning helped the Detroit Tigers defeat the Chicago White Sox 10-8 on Tuesday.

As heard on 97.1 The Ticket - Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Raburn and Austin Jackson homered during the eight-run rally in the sixth inning.

The White Sox made it interesting , loading the bases in the ninth inning with two out and scoring two runs to make the game within reach. Tigers closer Jose Valverde had to leave with an apparent injury and was replaced by Octavio Dotel who got the final out.

Tigers starter Max Scherzer threw 99 pitches in just four innings, allowing four runs before being replaced by Collin Balester and suddenly the Tigers were down by six runs.

Chicago starter Jake Peavy sailed into the sixth with a 6-0 lead before Cabrera hit a long two-run homer.

Raburn hit a three-run homer off Peavy and Jackson hit a three-run drive off Will Ohman (0-2).

Alexei Ramirez's two-run double made it 10-8. But Dotel got Dayan Viciedo to fly out to the right-field fence for his first save in two chances.

Chicago's A.J. Pierzynski was 5 for 5 with three RBIs.
