Tigers 4, Orioles 3

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Victor Martinez snapped a 3-3 tie in the 11th inning at Comerica park and the Detroit Tigers beat the Baltimore Orioles 4-3 on Friday night.

As heard on 97.1 The Ticket - the Tigers broke through in the bottom of the 11th inning - with two men on base, Martinez hit a line drive double to drive in the winning run for Detroit.

Brandon Inge started the inning with a walk off Willie Eyre (2-2), and Miguel Cabrera hit a one-out single. Rookie Zach Phillips came on to face Martinez and gave up the game-ending double on his third pitch.

Alfredo Simon pitched the first eight innings for Baltimore, allowing three runs and six hits.

Rick Porcello allowed three runs, nine hits and a walk in seven innings. Ryan Perry (1-0) got the win with a scoreless 11th.

Detroit tied the game at 3 in the fifth when Jhonny Peralta led off with a double and scored on Ramon Santiago's second single of the game.
