Tigers Miguel Cabrera Out Of Lineup Again
BOSTON (CBS Detroit/AP) - Miguel Cabrera is not in the Detroit Tigers' lineup for the third straight game for Monday afternoon's matchup against the Red Sox.
The reigning AL MVP and Triple Crown winner has been sidelined by a strained abdomen, but GM Dave Dombrowski said during an interview on a Boston radio station that he's been more hampered by a ''groin'' problem.
With Cabrera out, manager Jim Leyland moved Prince Fielder up to third in the order and Victor Martinez fourth. Don Kelly is playing third base and batting seventh.
Cabrera leads major league baseball with a .358 batting average and 130 RBIs and with 43 homers, he trails only Baltimore's Chris Davis.
Doug Fister is on the mound ad the Tigers begin a three-game series v. the Sox at Fenway Park. The game starts at 1:35 p.m. Hear it live on 97.1 The Ticket.
