Tiger's Cabrera Will Enter Rehab
LAKELAND (WWJ) - Miguel Cabrera will enter a treatment program set up by doctors administered by Major League Baseball and its players' union.
The Detroit Tigers slugger reported to spring training Thursday for the first time since he was arrested last week on suspicion of drunken driving.
Speaking through a translator in Lakeland, Florida, Cabrera apologized for his actions saying: "I just want to say that I'm very sorry for what I've done, I want to apologise to all my teammates, my owner, my family, my friends, everybody who I've let down."
Cabrera continued, "I've worked very hard over a period of time in overcoming this and I just what to get back and play and have everyone forgive me and I ask for forgiveness."
Major League Baseball's executive vice president Rob Manfred said Cabrera ``understands that any future alcohol-related incidents could involve more serious consequences.'
